Description

Managing today’s workforce is even more complicated when your employee’s performance problems interfere with your professional goals, your work unit’s goals, and the goals of your organization. This training helps supervisors confront workplace and conduct problems that are manifested in deteriorating or unsatisfactory job performance. It is designed to support and enhance supervisors’ ability to manage their personnel.

Goal

To assist supervisors in constructively confronting performance problems and to recognize the usefulness of the EAP in this process.

Objectives

Participants will learn to:

  • Understand the key elements of the EAP
  • Recognize observable signs of the troubled employee
  • Advise employees how to access services on a self-referral or informal referral basis
  • Distinguish between an appropriate EAP referral and situations requiring the application of disciplinary measures
